Joseph J. Hall - two volumes entitled 'Cycle Tours through England, Illustrated'. Both half-bound in leather, each with typed text and photographs pasted in. The first (No. 2) is dated 1898, and has a folding map at the front. The spine is missing and the contents are becoming loose. The second (No. 3) is dated 1899 and has a signed photograph of the young author pasted in on the reverse side of the frontispiece. The binding is rubbed, but the volume is in better condition than the other. Both have the bookplate of Joseph J. Hall (of Great Yarmouth) on the front paste-down endpaper. Both volumes have an elaborate coloured title page, listing the counties covered during the holiday cycling tours (stretching from Norfolk to Wiltshire), and both have letters of appreciation bound in at the rear. All edges gilt, and each volume c. 200 pages. (2)

The magazines include The Illustrated London News, The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, The Sketch, and The Graphic. The majority appear to be hand-coloured and all seem to be in good, clean condition. 'Punch' - Cycling Cartoons. A black ring-binder measuring 12 x 10 - inches and comprising a 'scrap-book' of Punch cartoons dating from the 1860s to the 1930s, all with a bicycling theme. The majority neatly pasted onto sheets, although a small quantity extracted from the book 'Mr. Punch Awheel' (1935?) have been loosely inserted in the rear polythene sleeve.
