Superbly manufactured in the style of a Joseph Lucas 'Popular' hub lamp of the mid 1880s, the lamp possesses red side glasses, bevelled edge front glass, embossed nameplate, centralising antennae and bearing clasp. An oil reservoir is fitted along with an appropriate tell-tale rear red glass. Unused and ready to mount. A similar lamp was sold by TCA last September. £ 300 - 600

- 'The London Bicycle Club 100 Miles Trial Road Medallion'. A large bronze cycling medal awarded to C.T. PRICE Whit Monday 1897 5' 52" (five hours, fifty-two minutes). Contained in its original blue velvet-lined presentation case (now distressed a little), the medal was infrequently given and probably represented a significant achievement at the time with an average of over 18mph on a bicycle. The medal depicts in raised relief the aforementioned wording and a rider on his Ordinary, centrally positioned. The LBC was founded in 1874 and was one of the most famous early clubs. Previously known as The London Amateur Bicycle Club, which had grown out of the Tension Bicycle Club, the word 'amateur' was dropped in 1874. Very good original condition save for a little rubbing to the highlights and bruising on the top edge. 4-inchs (10.5cms) diameter. £ 200 - 300

- A circa 1881 Howe Machine Company Ltd., open front, rear steering tricycle. An imposing and very rare rear steering tricycle being numbered 26 and possibly dating from as early as 1880. The two supporting 45-inch wheels are in fine condition, the nearside being driven by a 1 1/4-inch chain, steering is by rack and pinion to the rear wheel controlled by a wooden grip stirrup handle, a twin handle on the driver's left operates the dual-spoon brake. The shaped wooden seat and back rest is new but made to pattern, the latter bearing an engraved brass plate, 'Manufactured by The Howe Machine Co. Ltd. Glasgow'. A very sound machine which was restored some time ago and dry-stored since. A complete and, from inspection, little used original machine, it sports a pair of 26-inch, semi-drop handlebars with turned horn grips, front-positioned spoon brake, hollow forks and an Arab spring saddle with its original pan and original tool bag. The leather covering and spring need adjustment. This bicycle was for a considerable period attached to the wall of an antique shop, where it received much interest but was never priced! - A circa 1890 J. K. Starley & Co., 'Rover' lady's Safety Bicycle. A rare survivor of the genre, indeed this machine may be the only known example extant. In the collection of the late Bill Bush for many years, this bicycle is finished in brown with yellow box lining, bright work is nickel-plated and the saddle cover is leather. The 24-inch original rims are in situ and are currently fitted with solid rubber tyring, the metal and canvas chain guard has been nicely restored, as has the skirt-guard and correctly mounted mudguards. Also featured are the correct front wheel, lever operated spoon brake, coil-spring lamp bracket and up-turned handlebars with cork grips. £ 3,000 - 4,000

- A circa 1893 gentleman's pneumatic-tyred Safety Bicycle. With mellowed older paintwork, this sound bicycle possesses its original 27-inch rims and hubs with tangent spoking. It is currently fitted with solid tyring. - A rare circa 1910 helical tube Coventry-Premier gentleman's touring roadster having a 28-inch cross braced frame with an indistinct frame number of 18747 and retains its matching mudguards, rear rack, saddle-bag with tools, electric lighting, 8-inch chain wheel with 7-inch cranks. A centre pull rod-operated front brake is fitted and a ring mounted lever rear brake. A sound and restorable machine. £ 200 - 300
