This interestingly manufactured machine possesses a 51-inch, 1-inch wide crescent rim driving wheel attached by tangent spoking to an original bronze hub, crank and modern pedals. The circular section backbone has an original style saddle support and padded saddle fitted and the rear forks house a 14-inch trailing wheel. Black-painted.

A circa 1885 Hillman Herbert & Cooper Ordinary. Although not a riding machine, most of its component parts are in situ. They comprise a 56-inch crescent rim, 1-inch wide, a pair of forks and semi-drop handlebars, a circular section backbone with its seat spring aperture and blade spring, a fixed mounting step and rear forks. Also offered is the original hub, cranks, bearings and reproduced main bearing hasps and bearings and turned wooden grips. Also with the lot are photocopies of period HHC catalogues.

A circa 1884 Starley & Sutton 'Meteor No 2' 52-inch Ordinary having three-quarter inch crescent rims, 28-inch cow-horn handlebars with later turned grips, brake to the driving wheel, 6-inch cranks, 17-inch trailing wheel and mounting step. The handlebars and fork crown with its original nickel-plating, and a shield shaped nameplate on the circular section backbone.

A circa 1885 Trigwell & Watson 'Regent' 54-inch Ordinary bicycle. Currently finished in dark green enamel, the machine features dropped handlebars with palm-grip handles, fixed mounting step, coil-pattern lamp bracket and spoon brake. An aluminium front rim with tyre is currently fitted using the original hub, albeit the original crescent rim is offered with its sale. The 7-inch cranks and rat trap pedals are in good fettle. Trigwell & Watson were one of the first manufacturers to use ball-bearings in their headstocks, as fitted to this bicycle.

A circa 1882, Ellis & Co., 'Facile' lever drive Safety Bicycle built to the Beale & Straw patent. This rare machine possesses a 41-inch driving wheel with a 21-inch trailing wheel. A complete and, from inspection, little used original machine, it sports a pair of 26-inch, semi-drop handlebars with turned horn grips, front-positioned spoon brake, hollow forks and an Arab spring saddle with its original pan and original tool bag. The leather covering and spring need adjustment. This bicycle was for a considerable period attached to the wall of an antique shop, where it received much interest but was never priced! An 'American Star' high wheel bicycle. Circa 1888, manufactured by H. B. Smith Machine Company of Smithville New Jersey, a 50-inch machine with Smith patent lever drive and leather straps and direct front steering. It is un-restored but possesses its correct 'V' section rims and tyring, brake mechanism, shaped handlebars with original turned wooden grips, and forward feet-rest. This machine comes with accompanying paperwork, photographs and a copy of an original catalogue.

An F. King of Wimborne (maker & agent) Ordinary bicycle having a 50-inch driving wheel, circular section hollow backbone attached to a 16-inch trailing wheel. Panted black, the machine features wide, palm-grip 24-inch handlebars with its original horn grips, William Bown adjustable main bearings, front spoon-brake, leaf spring saddle support with the maker/agent's name etched, later Joseph Lucas Ltd. bell fitted to the handlebars, leather-covered original saddle pan, correct style reproduction pedals fitted. A rideable machine.
