Central chain drive to the rear axle turning 44-inch driving wheels, stirrup grip steering to a 16-inch steering wheel, band brake lever, correct lamp brackets, original style saddle and cover, period pedals, etcetera. A very sound machine with tight spoking and good rubber tyring. Ready to enjoy.

A circa 1895 Quadrant Cycle Co. lady's tricycle having rebuilt rims on original hubs with 'New World Tour' 26-inch tyres fitted, 25-inch handlebars, plunger brake, rear facing feet-rests, lamp bracket, original and correctly forward fitted mudguards over the rear wheels, driving axle, chain set and inch-pitch block chain (not fitted). A delightfully original machine and an ideal simple restoration project. No saddle.

A sound machine comprising an original black enamel butted tube and stay, 19-inch frame, 26-inch wheels, original headstock badge and transfer, rear internal expanding brake on the off-side rear wheel, calliper brake on the steering wheel, three-speed Simplex gears, front mudguard, saddle, bell and rubber grips on a semi up-turned handlebar. Ready to ride.

A circa 1881 Howe Machine Company Ltd., open front, rear steering tricycle. An imposing and very rare rear steering tricycle being numbered 26 and possibly dating from as early as 1880. The two supporting 45-inch wheels are in fine condition, the nearside being driven by a 1 1/4-inch chain, steering is by rack and pinion to the rear wheel controlled by a wooden grip stirrup handle, a twin handle on the driver's left operates the dual-spoon brake. The shaped wooden seat and back rest is new but made to pattern, the latter bearing an engraved brass plate, 'Manufactured by The Howe Machine Co. Ltd. Glasgow'. A very sound machine which was restored some time ago and dry-stored since. Much research was carried out on this vehicle in the 1960s by James Wood of the Museum of Transport in Glasgow.
