The painting is on a very thin panel that has divided a little and then during restoration and cleaning has been fixed to a cradle
The paint is a little thin but not over cleaned, there are signs of divisions in the panel which have been hidden during restoration, it is in a new ebony 17th Century Dutch style frame. The attribution of Brekelenkam was given to this picture by Sothebys Old Master picture department in Bond Street
