- 1929 Ford Model A fully restored rolling chassis
The model A was built between 1927 and 1931, and over 4 million examples were produced. It was the first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls with conventional clutch and brake pedals, throttle and gear lever. The longevity of the model is well documented, but in recent years such cars have started being used for VSCC trials. Not only have such cars been prevalent in the list of entries, but some examples have been real contenders for winning. The hard wearing components combined with the large number of examples that survive, make the Ford model A an excellent alternative trialling motorcar. Such motorcars also represent excellent value for money, compared to their English equivalents.
We are told that this rolling chassis has been fully restored, and would be easily converted into a trials special with a speedster body that is available off the shelf.

- 1929 Austin 7 Gordon England Cup
Reg. no. SV 9623
The Austin 7 chassis, in running form, went to Gordon England to receive his own unique designed bodywork, from 1925 until late 1929. The bodies were considered by many to be the best balanced lines of any Austin 7. They were all fabric covered, giving a lighter body, and above all excellent power to weight ratio.
This excellent late 1929 example was rebuilt in 1993, and received many upgrades during this restoration, including hydraulic brakes. The result is an excellent and highly useable small motorcar that will reward its new owner with years of pleasure.

- 1916 Buick Model D 6-45
Reg. no. BF 5886
This powerful Edwardian Buick has been recently imported from the USA, registered and taxed in the UK. It is sold with current MOT, many papers and receipts collated over the years. Import VAT has been paid on the car and it is free to reside in any EC country as a result. Powered by a 4.5 litre, six cylinder overhead valve engine, this original bodied five seater tourer would suit VSCC members who wish to compete in the ?Light Car and Edwardian Section? events, although it is a very usable family car. £ 17,500 - 18,000

- 1926 Amilcar type G sports
Reg. no. SV 4991
Chassis no. 67965
Engine no. 73919
Founded by Joseph Lamy in 1921, Amilcar manufactured motorcars until 1940. The company began making cycle cars, after which their models gradually became more sporty, the most famous of which, was the CGS Grand Sport. The success of all Amilcars, involved in competition, was their power to weight ratio, a crucial element with any motorcar.
This exciting two seater sports is in our opinion an archetypal VSCC motorcar. With rebuilt engine and electrics and an exterior that is nicely patinated, (deliberately not mirror finish), the result is a great looking car, that isnt highly polished, but performs as it should, that is certain to appeal to many keen motor enthusiasts. It sits there and just says drive me! We are told by the vendor that the car performs well, and it received a new Mot in May. Unfortunately little of its history is known, however we are told that there shouldnt be too much difficulty in obtaining a buff form, and then competition awaits!

- 1936 Rolls-Royce 20/25 Thrupp & Maberley 6-light Saloon
Reg. no. BUP 888
Chassis no. GTK 30
Engine no. W22F
The 20/25 was built between 1929 and 1936, evolving from the 20hp model, as the company's small car intended to appeal to owner-drivers. However many were sold to owners with their own chauffeurs. The in-line six cylinder ohv engine was similar to the 20hp but enlarged to 3,699cc, running on a single carburettor with coil and magneto ignition. The four speed gearbox had a traditional right hand change. In very good all round condition, this two tone grey motorcar, was cosmetically restored in the early 1990's. It has been used for some wedding hire, but ultimately enjoyed by the current owner for many years. It has a new MOT, V5c and copies of the original order particulars including details of the original recipient, George Heath Ltd for Mrs G. Crabtree. A very good car that is ready for the season. £ 25,000 - 30,000

- 1933 Riley 14/6 Alpine Special
Reg. no. 173 YUL
Chassis no. 14L 2552
Engine no. E49
CATALOGUE AMENDMENT: Reg. no. now added and new main image.
This 6-cylinder Riley was imported from South Africa about fifteen years ago by its previous owner, and it has never been registered in the Uk. An age related number has been applied for and should be with the vehicle prior to the sale.
We are told that the chassis was modified in South Africa, and underslung at the rear. The coachwork was also constructed prior to its import, about twenty years ago. Recently a full engine rebuild has been undertaken, and work includes a re-bore, new big ends and main bearings, the crank has been re-ground and the waterpump and distributer drive have been overhauled. A very minor repair to the cylinder block was detected, but has now been tested as fine. New king pins and bushes have also been fitted to the front axle. Four new tyres and a new mohair hood round off a very presentable and eminently useable motorcar. It has a new MOT that expires next July.

- 1936 Singer LeMans
Reg. no. FPD 601
Chassis no. S388
Engine no. 28788
A lovely example of the now, and rightly so, sought after Singer LeMans speed model, two seater. These cars in their day were one of the most successful small British sports cars. They were of considerable concern to MG, with the name Singer appearing with monotonous regularity in the prize lists of trials and rallies of the period. This example has clearly, been the subject of an in depth quality restoration, followed by careful use and continual fettling by its owners. A very correct car, driving as it should that benefits from hydraulic brakes, an easy to use gearbox and excellent road manners. Recently the car has been thoroughly enjoyed and constantly improved where necessary. Looking very much the part, this car has just the right amount of patination which somehow so aptly completes the picture you see here today.

- 1934 Rover '14' Speed Pilot
Reg. no. BPB 54
Chassis No. 36173
Engine No. 36173
The 14/6 model was introduced in 1934 on a lengthened under-slung chassis. The Speed model came with a tuned 1577cc ohv engine and high compression cylinder head enabling speeds of 80 mph. The ports and manifolds were streamlined and carburation was by triple downdraught bronze-bodied S.U.s. The model used an aluminium-bodied skin over an ash wood frame. 18 inch Rudge Whitworth centre-lock wire wheels were fitted, with the spare wheel mounted on the boot at the rear. The Speed Pilot was a further extention of the Rover sales policy to attract a more discerning, up-market clientèle and in the case of this car, it has a one-off coach built body by Carbodies, who were the preferred coach builder for Alvis. In-deed there are great similarities with an Alvis Speed 20 especially from the rear. It has a pet-rol tank capacity of 10 gallon with mpg of 20 to 24. The centre-lock wire wheels are fitted with 18 x 4.75 tyres.
This example was owned for many years by a well known Dutch Rover enthusiast, Harry Hildgerdenaar and it has been restored over a long period of time and very well maintained since.
This is a very rare car, being the only one of this model manufactured. (According to club records there is in existence a less original two door version.) It is a very desirable and stylish high-speed touring car that is beautifully finished in mid grey with a grey leather interior, all to the original pattern. The gearbox is an ENV four speed manual with synchromesh and freewheel, as original from new, and not the standard Rover gearbox. There is a photocopy of a test in The Autocar 7 April 1933 relating to this actual car. Termed a four seater, the body really does accommodate four people in comfort, giving plenty of leg room. It has curved humps to the scuttle with instruments very much in the Art Deco style. There is also an article in the Mayfair magazine Vol 18 No.9, with photographs of this actual car.
Recently the engine has been totally rebuilt and it will require careful 'running-in' for the next few hundred miles.
The bulging history file contains copious invoices going right back to 1934! Also there are copies of the various invoices relating to the recent engine rebuild. Any Speed 14 is an ex-ceedingly scarce car with only a handful in existence. A rare opportunity to acquire a truly unique and useable car.
