Notes: most are annotated in the artist's own hand with details and his signature, one depicting Queen Victoria receiving an address from the Lord Provost of Edinburgh at Waverley Station (1891), another depicting a meeting of the Glasgow Art Club or similar and showing Sir David Murray, Sir Francis Powell, Mr James Bell, Sir James Guthrie (President Glasgow Art Club 1896-8), William Darling MacKay and Professor McKendrick. Also sketches at the International Twenty (Military Shooting) Match at Darnley with named personalities of the forces and others relevant to a Railway strike, two of Lord Salisbury, one of The Attorney General of Glasgow and some of his parliamentary supporters, one of Professor Muller lecturing at The University of Glasgow, another of Professor Henry Drummond of Glasgow, another of Sir William Thomson replying to an address from his students and three depicting classical musicians and contemporary music hall stars
