Note:
Ian Walters was born in Solihull and studied at the Birmingham School of Art. He taught at the Stourbridge and then the Guildford School of Art until the early 1980s. During his career he made sculptors of many of the leading figures of the his day, including Harold Wilson, Barbara Castle and James Callaghan, all displayed in the Houses of Parliament.

His most famous sculptor was of Nelson Mandela who he sculpted twice, one erected outside the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank in London in the mid 1980s. For his second sculpture of Mandela in 2001, Mandela sat for him for nine hours. Mandela told him this was the longest time he had given any artist. It was unveiled in parliament square in 2007.

Notes:
Dudley was a respected designer and sculptor, having studied at the Wolverhampton School of Art in 1939 and 1945-46. He was travelling scholar and lecturer in sculpture, but was particularly noted as the Head of the Sculpture department at Chelsea School of Art from 1974 to 1984.

In 1882 Louis Lefevre-Utile took charge of his family's biscuit business and turned it into one of the leading brands in France through aggressive and creative advertising. This included both marketing and packaging campaigns, where he employed Alphonse Mucha to create some of the designs.
