Potential buyers will be asked to register to bid and will be given a bidding number.
Payment for purchases may be by cash, cheque to limit of banker's card, business cheque or credit/debit card. There is no charge for Switch or Solo. Credit cards payments will be charged at 2% of the gross inc VAT. Commission bidders should please leave credit/debit card details.
Any successful bid will attract a buyer's premium of 13% plus non-recoverable VAT where appropriate. We have not increased our commission percentage in 5 years but as we now operate the Auctioneers' Margin Scheme this means you will not be charged VAT on commission where items such as comics and books are zero rated. Thus there is only the tiniest increase - 0.08% in real terms. Where a VAT vendor is selling a standard VAT rated item the full VAT will apply to the hammer price. The auctioneer will warn bidders in this situation.
In the event of a tied bid, the person present in the room will win the lot over an absentee bidder.
Payment to vendors will be by cheque 30 days following the sale. The Vendor premiums are 13% plus non-recoverable VAT where appropriate. Unsold Lots are charge at £5 plus VAT & should be collected from the saleroom within 7 days of the auction or postage arranged and paid for. Postage is charged at cost with no charge for packing.
Anyone viewing or bidding at the sale is deemed to have read the above rules and agrees to be bound by them.
