(The following rules for the conduct of Greenchase Auction's 21 April 2007 sale, revised for sale by Commission Bidding Slip for absentee bidders only, supersede the rules under 'General Notes' below.)

All potential buyers will be registered to bid by receipt of their completed Commission Bidding Slip. The slip is in PDF format, so you will require Adobe Acrobat Reader (a free download from Adobe's web site) or other PDF-viewing software. You can find a link to the bid form at the bottom of every catalogue page.

All prior telephone/fax or postal bids will be executed as cheaply as possible. All such bids should be received by 12 Noon on the day of the sale.

At this sale we are NOT able to accept live telephone bids

All successful bids will attract buyer's premium of 15% plus non-recoverable VAT on the commission on standard rated items. Items such as comics, magazines and books are zero rated for VAT and none will be charged.

We cannot accept instructions to buy regardless of price.

All lots are to be paid for within 10 days, together with shipping arranged and paid within 10 days of the sale (UK) and 14 days (Overseas)

Lots are sold with all faults, imperfections and errors of description. However if a buyer is able to show that a lot is a deliberate forgery and notifies us of the same within two weeks of the sale, the sale will be rescinded. Please see notes on condition.

In the event of a tied bid, the winner of the lot will be the first bid that was received. Once the hammer has come down the lot is sold

We accept credit cards (not Diner's card) at 3%, 5% Amex surcharge plus VAT and debit cards, sterling or US$ cheques and cash. The exchange rate will be determined by Thomas Cook rates pertaining on Saturday 21 April 2007. Because of the difference between the buy and sell rates it would be more cost effective for customers to pay in sterling cheques.

General Rules for the Conduct of GreenChase Auctions

All potential buyers will be asked to register to bid in the auction room or in the case of absentee bidders by prior arrangement.

All prior telephone or postal bids will be executed as cheaply as possible. All such bids should be received by 6pm the day preceding the sale.

We accept live telephone bids from UK customers for lots estimated at £300 plus. We can accept calls from overseas by negotiation but we cannot accept prolonged calls thus.

In the event of a tied bid between a postal bidder and a bidder in the room the latter wins the lot. Once the hammer has come down the lot is sold. In the event of a bidder attracting the auctioneer's attention on the fall of the hammer the auctioneer will have the discretion to reopen the bidding. Bidder should make sure they attract the auctioneer's attention by using their white bidding numbers.
